Abstract [en]

This report delivers a comprehensive framework for establishing a lithium-ion battery facility in the European context, tailored to address the unique challenges and opportunities of this region. Building on the findings of the ERA-MIN Horizon 2020 ELiMINATE project, this report presents a consolidated approach for material recovery plant operators to evaluate market demand, business model viability, and recycling technology feasibility. By considering factors such as geography, market conditions, regulatory environments, and circular economy development, facility planners can optimize their investment decisions and ensure long-term success in the EU lithium-ion battery market.

Abstract [sv]

Denna rapport skapar ett ramverk för etablering av återvinningsanläggningar för litiumjonbatteriåtervinning i Europa, med hänsyn till de unika utmaningarna och möjligheterna i regionen. Ramverket är skapat från resultaten från ERA-MIN Horizon 2020-projektet ELiMINATE. Rapporten presenterar en konsoliderad metod för materialåtervinningsanläggningsägare att bedöma marknadens efterfrågan, affärmodellers genomförbarhet och återvinningsteknikers tekniska möjlighet. Genom att ta hänsyn till faktorer som geografi, marknadsförhållanden, regelverk och utveckling av cirkulära ekonomi, kan fabriksplanerare optimera sina investeringsbeslut och säkerställa långsiktiga framgång i den europeiska marknaden för litium-ionbatterier.
